FAQs

About the Bed

WHAT MAKES AGILITY® UNIQUE?

Unlike most pre-packaged mattresses made entirely of foam, the Agility® mattress is a hybrid, made from a special blend of elements designed to give you the best night of sleep. Our latex foam is breathable and provides extra support for shoulders and hips, more flex for head, back and feet immediate response to your body movements for the perfect surface feel. Nearly 1,000 mini micro-coils respond quickly to movement in any direction and work in concert to minimize motion disturbance. Our bio-based gel memory foam helps with energy absorption, providing pressure relief and a transitional layer in your mattress. Finally, the base foam layer gives your mattress added support and durability.

DO I NEED A FOUNDATION/BOX SPRING?

We’ve tested the Agility® mattress on the floor, a slatted bed frame, on top of a bed base and on an adjustable bed base. It is designed to work on any firm, flat surface. You want to ensure that slats have adequate center support and that they are no more than 4 inches apart.

WHY IS THE AGILITY® MATTRESS PRICED DIFFERENTLY THAN OTHER MATTRESSES IN RETAIL STORES

At Agility®, we provide the lowest price possible without unnecessary mark ups. We don’t incur national advertising costs that have to be passed onto the consumer. Unlike most pre-packaged mattresses made entirely of foam, the Agility® mattress is a hybrid, made from a special blend of elements designed to give you the best night of sleep. Our innovative technologies provide a breathable, supportive sleep for your body. Plus, your Agility® mattress isn’t born until you order it. There are no holding costs on old inventory.

HOW DO I CARE FOR MY NEW MATTRESS?

Stay protected. Use a mattress cover or waterproof pad to protect your mattress from soiling. As with all mattresses, if you sleep alone on one side of the bed or have a meaningful weight differential with your mattress partner, we do recommend rotating the bed 180 degrees every 3-6 months.

Material & Construction

DOES THE FOAM SMELL?

Although your new Agility® mattress may have a mild scent upon unboxing - the way a new car or new shoes do - any scent should dissipate over a short period of time in a well-ventilated room.

WILL MY AGILITY MATTRESS SINK LIKE A MEMORY FOAM BED?

With the special hybrid construction of an Agility® bed, you can be sure that your new mattress won’t sink or form a valley. We offer a 10-year warranty so you can be just as confident as we are that you’re getting a great bed that will hold up over time – whether you sleep alone, with your partner or with your whole family. You can read more about the warranty here.

WILL THERE BE A PROBLEM IF I HAVE A LATEX ALLERGY?

Agility® uses a hypo-allergenic latex foam, designed with families in mind. Additionally, there are three layers between you and the latex layer: a transitional layer of poly foam, a fire-protection sock, and the cover of the mattress itself‚ which prevent you from coming into contact with the latex. On top of that, it is recommended that the mattress be protected with use of a mattress pad under the sheets.

HOW DOES THE AGILITY® MATTRESS COMPARE TO A MEMORY FOAM BED?

Memory foam provides great support and contouring. However, we found that memory foam on its own retained too much heat and some people disliked sinking into the mattress. To create a bed that will give you the best night’s sleep, we merged mini micro-coils and memory foam with latex foam. The mini micro-coils combined with the premium latex and memory foam work to support your back, support your movements and cushion your spine. The latex foam is breathable and ensures you are supported without that "sinking" feeling.

WHERE IS AGILITY® MADE?

Agility® is proudly made in the U.S.A.

  • TwinXL: 38"W x 80"L

Depending on mattress size, the total weight of the box ranges from 69 lbs. to 136 lbs. The foundation ships in its own box, approximately 15" x 12" x 77" in size, and total weight of the box ranges from 54 lbs. to 84 lbs., depending on size of foundation.

HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE ME TO GET MY NEW MATTRESS SET-UP?

Set-up only takes minutes! Mattress Unpacking Guide (PDF) / Foundation Assembly Instructions (PDF)

HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE THE MATTRESS TO BECOME A NORMAL SHAPE AFTER I REMOVE IT FROM ITS SHIPPING BOX?

Go ahead and drift off later that night! While it may take a day or two to come back to its full size and shape, it’s typically ready for use within only just 12-24 hours.

Orders & Shipping

WHAT IS THE STATE RECYCLING FEE?

Some states require a retailer to collect a small amount on every mattress and foundation sold to support the state's recycling programs. If your state has a program like this, you'll see a charge in checkout for a state recycling fee.

HOW MUCH IS SHIPPING?

Shipping is FREE to the contiguous states! FREE shipping for mattresses and foundations. Shipping outside Continental United States is not available.

HOW LONG UNTIL I RECEIVE MY ORDER?

Mattress only, or mattress + foundation are made upon order in the United States. Your product will not be sitting around in a box in a warehouse. Once produced, it will ship to your doorstep. We typically need 3 - 5 business days to craft your mattress. Transit time can then take an additional 1 - 5 business days, depending on where you live, via UPS Ground or FedEx Ground with contactless delivery. During holiday season that timeframe may be longer as our factories do close in observance of holidays. You will receive an email notification with tracking information once the order ships to help you feel prepared.

Time to Sleep

WILL I FEEL MY PARTNER MOVE?

Not nearly as much as with a spring-based mattress. The layers of foam and mini micro-coils provide an absorbent feel, with a quick surface response. So, as long as your partner is 6 inches away you’ll barely feel them. That’s great news since partner disturbance is a leading cause of sleep interruption!

DOES AN AGILITY® MATTRESS PREVENT BED BUGS OR DUST MITES?

No, but these pesky occurrences are prevented by using and washing a mattress protection pad and a mattress encasement.

DOES AN AGILITY® MATTRESS SLEEP HOT?

No, while many memory foam beds retain heat, the Agility® hybrid mattress has only one layer of gel memory foam, and it’s not the top layer, so you can rest easy (and cool!). Also, the latex layer is ventilated and actually moves air around while you move (due to its “Swiss Cheese” construction). We put a lot of thought into this construction with heat reduction being one of the key goals to ensure your comfort.

DO YOU NEED TO FLIP THE BED?

Nope! The mattress is not designed to be flipped, as the latex and memory foam are on one side of the mattress. As with all mattresses, if you sleep alone on one side of the bed or have a meaningful weight differential with your mattress partner, we do recommend rotating the bed 180 degrees every 3-6 months.

DOES IT HAVE A BREAK-IN PERIOD?

No… but you do! It can take your body up to 30 days to adjust to the new support system. Rest easy and give your body time to fall in love with your new mattress.

ARE FLAME RETARDANT CHEMICALS USED IN THE AGILITY® MATTRESS?

No, our Agility® mattress is constructed with families in mind. We fully comply with federal regulations utilizing textile products rather than chemical products.

Testing & Certifications

WHAT CERTIFICATIONS DOES THE MATTRESS HAVE?

All the foams in the Agility® mattress have environmental certifications that ensure they are safe and non-toxic. Our polyurethane foams (memory foam and poly support foam) are CertiPUR-US certified. CertiPUR-US approved foams are: * Made without ozone depleters * Made without PBDE flame retardants * Made without mercury, lead and other heavy metals * Made without formaldehyde * Made without phthalates regulated by the Consumer Product Safety Commission * Low VOC (Volatile Organic Compound) emissions for indoor air quality (less than 0.5 parts per million). Our latex layer is OEKO-TEX Standard 100, Class 1 certified – this is the highest standard that guarantees the foam is safe enough for use by babies and children.

WHAT SAFETY TESTS HAVE YOU DONE ON THE BED?

The federal government requires all mattresses sold in the U.S. to meet very stringent regulations, as governed by 16 CFR 1633 and 1632. On the Agility® mattress, we used the safest fire retardant barrier we could find: a fire-retardant, knit sock covers the foam before the outer cover is placed on the mattress. No chemicals, just textiles. The knit sock is made from a proprietary yarn with a silica core and a polyester/acrylic/nylon/rayon outer wrap. The knit sock is made without any toxic chemicals and is OEKO-TEX certified.

Returns & Refunds

WHAT IF THIS ISN'T THE RIGHT MATTRESS FOR ME?

We are 100% confident that you will love your Agility® mattress, but if for some reason you are dissatisfied with it, Agility® offers a 100-Night Trial. In order to be sure you have given your body time to adjust to your new mattress, we ask that a refund request is made not less than thirty (30) days and not more than one hundred (100) days after delivery was made.

While it may not be right for you, there are organizations and individuals who would benefit from an Agility® mattress. So, rather than asking you to return the mattress to us, we ask you to donate it to a registered 501(c)(3) charity, where it can be used to benefit someone in your community. If you cannot find a 501(c)3 organization to donate the mattress to, Agility will accept a donation to a local family via a religious organization or school. If a donation is made this way, the customer must submit a letter written by an administrator at the religious organization/school on letterhead to Agility outlining that the donation is being made.

The family receiving the mattress does not need to be named. In the event that a customer prefers to have Agility arrange a pickup of the mattress or lives in a state where mattress donation is prohibited, Agility will coordinate those arrangements at the cost of $75 - $175, depending upon size and location, deducted from the refund amount. Pickups are not available in Vermont and Wyoming. Please see donation details in Returns & Refunds section and contact an ShopTherapedic® advisor at 877-848-5753 or email us at Advisor@ShopTherapedic.com.

WHAT IF THE MATTRESS COMES DAMAGED?

All Agility® products include a Damage and Defect Upon Delivery Warranty. If an Agility® product arrives in a damaged or unusable condition, Agility® will replace or repair the product(s) in a timely manner, at no extra charge to you. Simply notify an Agility® advisor by email within 36 hours of receipt of the delivery of the item(s), and see our Returns & Refunds page for full details.

WHAT IS THE WARRANTY?

The mattress has a 10 Year Limited Warranty! You can find our warranty details here.

About the Bed

What makes Immunity mattresses unique?

Better sleep for a healthier life starts with Immunity™ copper-infused mattresses. This collection of hybrid models has the highest copper content of any mattress for immune-boosting benefits. Enjoy comfort, support and durability from the combination of our edge-to-edge coil system and performance foam layers, along with the homeopathic benefits of copper for well-being, designed to give you a restorative night of sleep. Besides being made from a special blend of elements, Immunity mattresses feature our unique NatuVerex™ copper fabric technology. A number of models also have NatuVerex copper fabric with cooling technology added for ultimate comfort.

What is NatuVerex Copper Fabric Technology and why is it special?

NatuVerex patented yarn technology infuses copper ions into the fabric. This means the top fabric of the mattress has 30% copper content, more than other copper fabrics. And, research shows it is effective through four layers of fabric, so the homeopathic benefits of copper work even after you add a mattress pad/protector and sheet to your mattress. *Studies have shown that NatuVerex technology kills 99.8% of surface bacteria. *per AATCC Test Method 100-2012‡; Report: 2679-026T-1B-en; March 3, 2020

How does copper fight harmful bacteria?

  • Copper ions travel from the fabric to the body of sleeper.
  • Copper helps reduce bad bacteria on the body while also increasing good
  • NatuVerex Copper fabrics *kill 99.8% of bacteria on the surface up through four layers of fabric in a 24-hour period. *per AATCC Test Method 100-2012‡; Report: 2679-026T-1B-en; March 3, 2020
  • Less bad bacteria = Less discomfort = Less inflammation = Healthier Body for a Better Night’s Sleep
  • Good sleep helps boost and support a healthier immune system.

Material & Construction

Where are Immunity Mattresses made?

All Immunity mattresses are proudly constructed at our U.S. factories.

Does the foam smell?

Although your new Immunity™ mattress may have a mild scent upon unboxing - the way a new car or new shoes do - any scent should dissipate over a short period of time in a well-ventilated room.

Will there be a problem if I have a latex allergy?

Most latex allergies are the result of direct contact with latex. Only two Immunity™ models, Terracotta and Sepia, have a latex layer. In these models, there are other layers between you and the latex layer which prevent you from coming into contact with the latex. On top of that, it is recommended that the mattress be protected with use of a mattress pad and/or protector under the sheets.

Are flame retardant chemicals used in the Immunity mattress?

No, our Immunity™ mattress is constructed with families in mind. We fully comply with federal regulations utilizing textile products rather than chemical products.

How do the fire barriers work?

The manufacturer uses nontoxic materials in the fire barriers for the safety of your health. They use cotton & rayon (the same materials used in clothing) which create a barrier as they melt but do not burn. These act as a thermal barrier, so the internal components do not get exposed to the heat. All Immunity™ Mattresses are tested.

How do Immunity mattresses compare to others I see online?

Only Immunity™ mattresses use NatuVerex Copper Fabrics with 30% copper and laboratory testing of efficacy. And unlike pre-packaged mattresses made entirely of foam, the Immunity™ mattress is a hybrid, made from a special blend of elements designed to give you the best night of sleep. Our innovative technologies provide a breathable, supportive sleep for your body with the homeopathic benefits of top surface copper for overall well-being. Plus, all Immunity™ mattresses are made upon order in the USA. They are not imported or made and boxed months in advance and left to sit ion containers or n warehouses collecting dust and negative impact of prolonged rolling and heat.

How does the Immunity mattress compare to a memory foam bed?

Memory foam provides great support and contouring. However, we found that memory foam on its own retained too much heat and some people dislike sinking into the mattress. To create a bed that will give you the best night’s sleep, we merged an edge-to-edge individually-encased coil spring unit with layers of CertiPUR-US foams and other specialty foams. This combination works to support your back, support your movements and cushion your spine.

The Size & Set-Up

What are the dimensions of the mattress?

Immunity™ mattress models vary in height, depending upon the build. You can review the height of each mattress and other key features here. The length and width of the mattresses are standard U.S. dimensions:

  • Twin: 38”W x 75”L
  • Twin XL: 38”W x 80”L
  • Full: 53”W x 75”L
  • Queen: 60”W x 80”L
  • King: 76”W x 80”L
  • Cal King: 72”W x 84”L

What is the height of the foundation?

Every foundation we offer is 7 ½” high.

Total weight of the box will range from 63 lbs. to 138 lbs, depending on choice of mattress. Some of our premium, heavy-duty models are of substantial weight, up to 168 lbs. While not currently available for order online, you may try these models at our select retail locations as we work on expanding our in-store network and our shipping options. Please see our comparison chart to identify which models are available online and in-store and which are available in-store only at this time.

The foundation ships in its own box, approximately 15" x 12" x 77" in size, and total weight of the box ranges from 54 lbs. to 84 lbs., depending on size of foundation.

Upon shipping, tracking number(s) will be provided, allowing you to plan ahead and arrange for help, if needed.

How long can I keep my Immunity Mattress in the box?

Remove from packaging within 2 weeks of receiving the mattress to prevent damage from long-term compression.

How long will it take me to get my new mattress set-up?

Set-up only takes minutes! Unbox, unwrap and unroll, unfold (certain models), remove plastic and position in place. This unpacking guide will accompany your mattress when shipped.

If you purchased a foundation, it is equally easy to set up; see our Foundation Assembly Instructions (PDF).

How long does it take the mattress to become a normal shape after I remove it from its shipping box? Can I sleep on my new Immunity the first night I receive it?

Your new mattress is typically ready for use within only 12-24 hours of unpacking. Go ahead and get ready to drift off! It may take a day or two to come back to its full size and shape, however.

What type of base should I use for my mattress?

Your Immunity™ mattress will feel great on traditional mattress foundations, box springs, platform bed frames and on an adjustable bed base. It is designed to work on any firm, flat surface. You want to ensure that slats have adequate center support and that they are no more than 4 inches apart. Foundations should have little give or flexibility.

How do I care for my new mattress?

Stay protected. Use a mattress cover or waterproof pad to protect your mattress from soiling. This will help keep sweat, liquids and stains off your mattress. As is common practice in the mattress industry, soiling does void the manufacturer’s warranty.

Your Immunity™ is a one-sided mattress, which means it is a NO-FLIP bed. As with all mattresses, if you sleep alone on one side of the bed or have a meaningful weight differential with your mattress partner, we do recommend rotating the bed 180 degrees every 3-6 months.

Do you take away my old mattress?

We currently do not typically offer haul-away services for existing mattresses. As required by California state law, if your bed was delivered to the State of California, we can arrange for the pick-up of the mattress that your new Immunity mattress will be replacing within 30 days of the date your new mattress was delivered. Any used mattress which is unsanitary, contaminated, and/or poses a risk to personnel, new products or equipment, is not eligible for this service. In order to arrange for this service, please contact us within three (3) days of the date your new Immunity mattress was delivered at advisor@shoptherapedic.com, or call customer service at 877-848-5753.

If you live elsewhere and need assistance with getting your old mattress hauled away, we can recommend a national service we use. It’s called Load Up. They can assist you at your own expense.

Will I feel my partner move?

Partner disturbance is a leading cause of sleep interruption! But we have great news! Our Immunity mattresses are designed to minimize motion disturbance.

Does it have a break-in period?

No… but you do! It can take your body up to 30 days to adjust to the new support system. Rest easy and give your body time to fall in love with your new mattress.

No, but these pesky occurrences are prevented by using and washing a mattress protection pad and a mattress encasement on a regular basis.

Does an Immunity mattress sleep hot?

Testing & Certifications

What certifications does the mattress have?

All the foams in the Immunity™ mattress have environmental certifications that ensure they are safe and non-toxic. The foams used in our mattresses are all CertiPUR-US® certified. This means the foam has been tested to meet the CertiPUR-US® rigorous standards for emissions, content, performance, and durability.

What does it mean to be CertiPUR-US® Certified?

Our polyurethane foams (memory foam, poly support foam and copper memory foam) are eCertiPUR-US certified. CertiPUR-US approved foams are:

  • Made without ozone depleters
  • Made without PBDEs, TDCPP or TCEP (“Tris”) flame retardants
  • Made without mercury, lead and havy metals
  • Made without formaldehyde
  • Made without phthalates regulated by the Consumer Product Safety Commission
  • Low VOC (Volatile Organic Compound) emissions for indoor air quality (less than 0.5 parts per million)
  • For more information on CertiPUR-US® please visit certipur.us

How about the latex layers in some of the models? Is that certified as well?

Our latex layers are OEKO-TEX Standard 100, Class 1 certified or GOLS certified.

  • OEKO-TEX Standard 100, Class 1 certified is the highest standard that guarantees the foam is safe enough for use by babies and children.
  • GOLS -Global Organic Latex Standard became a globally recognized standard for products made out of organically grown natural rubber latex. The standard addresses criteria for natural rubber latex featuring only permissible limits for harmful substances, emission test requirements and polymer and filler percentages.

What safety tests have you done on the bed?

The federal government requires all mattresses sold in the U.S. to meet very stringent regulations, as governed by 16 CFR 1633 and 1632. On the Immunity™ mattress, we used the safest fire-retardant barrier available located just beneath the top fabric material on the mattress.

Returns & Refunds, Comfort Exchange

How does the trial period work? What if this isn't the right mattress for me?

Keep in mind that the first 30 nights on your new mattress are a critical adjustment period as your body adapts to your new bed.

We are 100% confident that you will love your Immunity™ mattress, but if for some reason you are dissatisfied with it, Immunity™ offers a 100-Night Trial for those mattresses purchase online through this website only. In order to be sure you have given your body time to adjust to your new mattress, we ask that a refund request is made not less than thirty (30) days and not more than one hundred (100) days after delivery was made.

While it may not be right for you, there are organizations and individuals who would benefit from an Immunity™ mattress. So, rather than asking you to return the mattress to us, we ask you to donate it to a registered 501(c)(3) charity, where it can be used to benefit someone in your community. If you cannot find a 501(c)3 organization to donate the mattress to, ShopTherapedic will honor a donation to a local family via a religious organization or school. If a donation is made this way, the customer must submit a letter written by an administrator at the religious organization/school on letterhead to ShopTherapedic outlining that the donation is being made. The family receiving the mattress does not need to be named. In the event that a customer prefers to have ShopTherapedic arrange a pickup of the mattress or lives in a state where mattress donation is prohibited, ShopTherapedic will coordinate those arrangements at the cost of $75 - $175, depending upon size and location, deducted from the refund amount. Pickups are not available in Vermont and Wyoming. Please see donation details in Returns & Refunds (change hyperlink) section and contact an Immunity™ advisor at 877-848-5753 or email us at advisor@shoptherapedic.com.

What is involved in a comfort exchange?

We still ask that you sleep on your mattress for 30 days to allow your body time to adjust to your new bed. During the remaining nights of the 100-night trial, if you decide your new Immunity mattress isn't the right one for you, you have two options. You may initiate a comfort refund (see section above) or you may initiate a comfort exchange for a different model you believe would better suit your comfort preferences. You may choose one or the other method, not both. To choose a comfort exchange, take the following steps:

  • Notify us by email or by phone of your desire to initiate a comfort exchange and arrange to talk to an advisor to identify which model you would like as a replacement.
  • In order for your mattress to be eligible for exchange, the mattress must be free from stains, soiling or other damage and have been purchased on this website only.
  • Place an order for the replacement model of your choosing.
  • Make arrangements to donate your originally purchased mattress and provide us with proof of donation – see section above for details.
  • After receiving proof of donation, your refund will be initiated. Refunds will be calculated based on the lesser-priced mattress purchased minus the cost of shipping related of the replacement mattress.
  • Await the arrival of your new, and final, mattress choice.
    • The replacement mattress is considered a final sale and is not eligible for a refund or exchange.

Other comfort exchange terms:

  • Comfort exchange options only pertain to mattresses purchased on this website.
  • Only one exchange per household is permitted.
  • The 100-night trial continues with the replacement model, beginning from the date of the original order.
